Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advanges of hiring a professional?
There are many advantages. A professional photographer has the right equipment to provide quality results. Having attended many weddings, an experienced professional photographer will be at ease at your wedding and is used to working with individuals, couples and groups to make the formal photography go smoothly. A professional photographer will be timely – arriving at your wedding promptly and getting results to you on time. When you think about the cost of professional photography remember that the photographer’s fee is only part of your investment. You, your parents, extended family and friends will be investing time with the photographer during your wedding. Don’t waste time on your wedding day with a photographer who won’t produce results you will absolutely love.

What makes you different from other professional photographers?
First, we don’t have the overhead or cost of a studio location and are not preoccupied with portrait and studio appointments all week. We dedicate our time and full attention to your wedding. Our training and experience in wedding and portrait photography will provide you with the confidence you want for your wedding day. We prefer to blend in and wear wedding appropriate attire. We capture the true moments of the day as they unfold, rather than to just create them in a “cookie cutter” fashion.

Do you use digital or film cameras?
We use the latest in professional digitial cameras with dedicated flash units, which record all images in a super high quality format. These formats give you very sharp images even at very large print sizes. We always use two cameras to give you the best coverage throughout your wedding. By shooting digitally we are able to positively ensure the photographs we take are being captured just the way we want them to be. It also eliminates the possibilty that a photo lab might damage or lose our film. We always have backup equipment ready and waiting, just in case.

What style of photography do you shoot?
We shoot weddings in both traditional and non-traditional styles and can offer you countless special effects by digitially enhancing your photographs. Any digital file can be transformed into sepia tone, black & white or any other format. This gives you much more control of photo choices – you specify which shots you want in color and those you want in black and white.

We also provide non-conventional wedding photography which is a style where almost all of your wedding portraits are taken before the ceremony. This allows you a more intimate and relaxing time after your wedding free from having to take formal photographs after your wedding. Of course this option is always up to you – we can shoot them before or after your wedding, customized just for your preferences.

Do you provide black and white photography?
Absolutely. All photographs are available in color, black and white, sepia and more.

Do you provide online viewing and ordering?
Yes. We provide our online photo gallery (secure and password protected) for viewing and ordering your wedding images which are usually posted within 48-72 hours after the cermony. You, your family and friends can enjoy viewing all the photos taken and order personal favorites from the comfort of home at at any time. Photos ordered online will be mailed directly the address you use when ordering. You don’t have to worry about carrying around proofs to show the relatives and you don’t have to worry about taking orders for their favorite shots. Just provide them with the password and let them browse to order as many photos as they desire. This a great service and is provided at no additional cost to you – it is included in all of our packages.

We want a mixture of photojournalistic and tradional photography – can you do that?
Absolutely, while we love to be creative and in-the-moment, we strongly recommend doing the traditional group shots as well, as they are very important. Couples sometimes are very adamant that they wanted all candid photographs but later found the parents were not too excited about that idea. Spending a little time getting those family and group shots is time well spent.

How do you approach the ceremony?
Quietly and with as little movement as possible. Nobody wants a photographer racing about and causing distractions during the ceremony. Nobody wants a photographer in their face with flash bulbs popping while they are in the intimate moment of exchanging their marriage vows. We photograph from two different angles, providing two photographers who move quietly and slowly staying out of the way. We work with zoom lenses to provide excellent wedding coverage without having to be right in your face.

We don’t want to see each other ahead of time. How do you handle that?
Providing two photographers for all weddings affords us the opportunity to capture individual portraits, family shots, groom with groomsmen, bride with bridesmaids, etc., ahead of time. We will split up when necessary to get seperate shots. We do the rest after the ceremony. We respect your choices, after all its your special day.

I don’t see exactly what I’m looking for. Do you offer custom packages?
Yes, if you don’t see a specific package here that suits your needs, please ask us for a custom package for your wedding. We know some couples are working with very tight budget constraints and are looking for just basic coverage while others are looking for packages that include many prints, wedding albums and other specialty items. We will tailor a package suited to your special needs and budget. Just let us know how much you have in mind for your photography coverage and we will design a custom package that fits your budget.

Do you require a deposit or retainer?
Yes, all wedding photographers require a reservation fee or retainer to reserve the date of your wedding. Weddings are typically booked several months in advance. You don’t have to select your final options to reserve your wedding date, the reservation fee simply reserves the date for you on our calendar.

Will you book more than one wedding on the same day?
Absolutely not. Neither of us needs that kind of added stress.

How far are you willing to travel?
We cover weddings for the state of Georgia. Our specific coverage area is the southern and middle Georgia areas. We do travel outside our area on a case by case basis and are available for destination weddings. Contact us with your details and we will be happy to provide an exact quote.

What about gift registry? Can family and friends help us with our photography expenses?
Absolutely, include us on your registry list and we will send your guest information on how they can help and provide them with a certificate for you.
